Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken
  • 2 medium Sliced Onion
  • 2 medium Onion Paste
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 cup Tomato Puree
  • 4 piece Green Cardamoms
  • 2 piece Black Cardamoms
  • 4 piece Cloves
  • 4 piece Black Pepper
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 1 inch Mace
  • 2 piece Green Chilies
  • 1 tablespoon Poppy Seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Milk (Khoya)
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilies Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri Mirch Powder
  • 1/2 cup Malai/Cream
  • 25 piece Foxnut (Makhana)
  • 2 tablespoon grated Dry Coconut
  • 1/2 cup Pure Ghee/Oil
  • 50 g Butter
  • Salt to Taste

Method

  • Wash chicken pieces cleanly and keep aside.
  • Prepare paste of Onion, Poppy seeds, all Garam Masala, Ginger Garlic, Red Chili powder & Kashmiri Mirch powder and keep aside.
  • Heat 1 tbsp Ghee in a pan and fry foxnut (makhana). Add dry coconut powder and bhuno it. Take out & make fine paste mixing 1 tbsp water.
  • Use the same pan to heat remaining Ghee/Oil & 25 gms butter and fry the sliced onions till light brown. Add chicken pieces and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add the masala paste and bhuno it till oil is separated.
  • Add tomato puree and keep bhuno it. Add khoya, cream/malai and bhuno it. Finally add the paste of makhana and mix well.
  • Add salt, 1-1½ cup water to prepare thick gravy.
  • Garnish with butter cubes and cream.
